How to Get 404 Chicken in Grow a Chicken Fighter (Secret)

The 404 Chick (often searched as “404 chicken” or “404 error chicken”) is the fastest chicken in the game and one of the two S-tier builds. It is a Secret, and the only realistic way to get it is to mass-produce Cursed Eggs.

Where the 404 Chick drops

The Blazing Egg odds are eight times better, but you get one per event win at most. The Cursed Egg is the route you can grind, and one streamer opening a batch of Cursed Eggs pulled several secrets in a row, so the under-1% figure is not hopeless at volume.

The farm route

• Scratch Egg. A Cosmo Brat lays them 100%, and the SERGIOVERSE code hands you one. See the codes page.
• NPC Chick (12% from Scratch). Common rarity, lays Cursed Eggs 80%. Creators call this step “super easy.”
• Stone Face (19% from Cursed). Common rarity, lays Cursed Eggs 100%, one every 2 minutes; one player on a rebirth laying buff reported about 1 minute.
• Open everything. The Cursed pool is mostly filler: NPC Chick 20%, Stone Face 19%, Bonk Hen 15%, Stonks Hen 15%, Karaoke Rooster 9%, Sigma Rooster 9%, This is Fine 6%, Deep-Fried Hen 4%, Imposter Chick 2%, 404 Chick under 1%. Sell or fuse the duplicates and keep the Stone Faces.
• Put a Stone Face in the Incubator if you have unlocked it, so eggs stack while you run the tower. More on the incubator guide and the Cursed Egg page.

Once you hatch a 404 Chick, it lays Cursed Eggs 100%, so you can keep rolling for a second one or for the rarer fillers without a Stone Face.

What the 404 Chick is good for

The 404 Chick has the fastest base speed of any chicken, and as a Secret it can reach the 31 stat cap that only cosmic and secret birds get. On its own it does not carry a headline skill. The build everyone runs is:

• Fuse 404 Chick (base) x Radiant Fenghuang (donor) and lock Cycle of Ash.
• Cycle of Ash drops a large ring on the ground; inside it your chicken moves faster, hits harder, and regains HP. The 404 is already the fastest bird, so it spends the most time inside the ring and gets the most out of it, which is why creators rate this pairing S-tier alongside the Voodoo Reaper.
• One recorded fusion kept the Fenghuang’s look on the result; that is cosmetic, the stats and speed came from the 404.

Things people get wrong

• “404 error chicken” is the same bird. The in-game index calls it 404 Chick; videos say 404 Chicken. There is no separate error-themed chicken.
• It is not a skill carrier by default. Some wikis list an ability called “Glitch Storm” for it. No recorded footage shows that, and the game’s meta builds treat the 404 as a speed body that you give a skill to.
• Rarity is Secret, not Mythic. One template wiki hedges “Mythical or Secret”; every pool table and every streamer says Secret.
• Inverted 404s exist. Any hatch has a 0.5% chance to come out inverted with a stat boost, and the 404 is one of the three chickens players hunt in inverted form; see inverted chickens.
